Introduction
Hello!
My name is Stephanie, I am currently studying Criminology/Cyber-security at Deakin university. I am a very friendly and open person who greatly enjoys networking and communicating with a wide range of people. I have great time management and organisational skills. In determining which career path I will pursue, I am looking for career that will provide a good organisational structure, job security and will enable me to maintain a balance in personal and work life that is optimal to me. Although I search for these values when looking for a long-term occupation, I am happy to pursue any career that treats me with respect and the pay is decent in accordance to the job.

Summary of Audit
After completing the self-awareness audit, it validated what my strengths and weaknesses were giving me a better understanding of myself and what I need to improve in order to make me more viable to employers. I discovered that I already have great soft skills and just need to continue in improving hard skills, specifically hard skills obtained through work experience. The self-awareness audit also helped me identify the types of careers that would best be suited to me and provided me with key aspects I should look for when picking a long-term career.

Deakin Talent

Graduate Job Search program:
I chose to connect with this community because it provides the tools and knowledge that will assist me in the first steps of finding employment. It will equip me with the skills I need to boost my marketability and presentation to future employers. This community will specifically help me learn, adapt and improve my job application skills, I feel it will give me an advantage when applying for jobs in the growing competitive market.
Australian Government Canberra:
I chose to follow and join this community because I know I would enjoy working for a large organisation and the Australian government provides secure long-term careers and meets many of my key values, interests depicted in the audit. A career with the Australian Government will also be optimal in accordance to my future skills. I’m specifically interested in the Intelligence Officer or Surveillance Officer roles. After completing my double degree in Criminology/Cyber security, the skills learnt from my studies may be transferred and applied into these careers. I also chose to connect with this community on Deakin Talent Connect because it was the only employer community that I took a interest out of the others I found as there wasn’t much to choose from.
